Shed and COROS

COROS works the same way Garmin does. Runs come in through Apple Health complete with splits and heart rate, and the coaching reads all of it. Sessions do not go back out to the watch.

What comes across

  • Runs. Distance, pace, splits, heart rate series and route.
  • Resting heart rate and HRV. COROS overnight measurements, if you wear the watch to sleep.
  • Sleep. Duration and stages as COROS records them.
  • History. Backfilled on first connect so your paces start grounded.

Turning on COROS to Apple Health

  1. 1

Open the COROS app on your iPhone

    Profile, then Settings.

  2. 2

Find Apple Health under connected services

Enable it and allow the categories it asks for, particularly workouts and heart rate.

  3. 3

    Grant Shed read access

Approve workouts, heart rate, resting heart rate, HRV and sleep when Shed asks on first launch.

Why COROS runners tend to get on well with this

COROS users skew toward runners who already build their own sessions and are comfortable with a watch that does not hold their hand. Reading a session on the phone and running it is less of an adjustment than it is for someone used to a plan appearing on the wrist.

The data quality is also excellent. COROS heart rate and pace records come through Health cleanly, which is what the pace re-anchoring and execution scoring depend on.

Frequently asked

Does Shed work with COROS?
Yes for reading your runs, through Apple Health. No for sending workouts to the watch.
Do my COROS splits come through?
Yes. Per-split pace and the heart rate series arrive intact, which is what Shed uses to score how a session was actually executed.
Does COROS sleep and HRV reach Shed?
If you wear the watch overnight and have Apple Health writing enabled in the COROS app, yes.

Two taps to connect

If it writes to Apple Health, Shed reads it.

Grant Health access once and your runs arrive on their own, from whatever you already wear. Shed grounds your paces in what you actually ran, not one race result, and writes the block around it.
